About Anthony Wrenn Reptiles
I am a breeder of select species of boas and ball pythons. I strive to ensure I have the healthiest reptiles in my collection. So this means that I usually buy the expensive equipment instead of skimping on cheaper ( and possibly less reliable) equipment. As Alan Bosch (ball python breeder) once said at a ball python symposium, “Buy the best equipment possible.” I took that to heart. It makes sense though. These are investment snakes not a $10 snake from a pet store. I have pythons like: Anthill pythons, Woma pythons. And ball python morphs like: Pastel Clowns; Piebald (pied); Lesser Platinum; Pinstripes; Albino. Then there are my boas like the Emerald Tree boas and Dwarf Super hypos Sonoran boas.
My collection in 1994 with a red tail boa. I eventually progressed to emerald tree boas and Brazilian rainbow boas. I figured I would start with smaller species of snakes so I can have a multitude in my new place. During my search for a small snake I found the smallest python in the world and said, “ I have to own that.” I proceeded to find any information on them in books and on the internet. Eventually I was able to purchase a few of these Anthill pythons and everything snowballed from there. When that first pair laid their clutch of eggs it was the best feeling in the world. Right up there with the birth of my kid or learning how to ride a motorcycle. Since then I have progressed to working on other breeding projects with Ball pythons, Woma pythons, and Dwarf boas.
Residing in Virginia (VA) makes it easy for me to travel to NY or FL for reptile shows there. Occasionally I do reserve tables at reptiles shows. I say, "occasionally" due to only producing a limited number of pythons every year.
